The food was normal cafe breakfast food, nothing special. Prices are pretty reasonable. They don't take credit cards, so bring cash. Wait staff wasn't that attentive or friendly.

This is my go to breakfast place when in Ocean City. The Chesapeake Sarah is absolutely deliciousness I would recommend it to anyone who likes chipped beef, hash browns, and eggs.

OMG breakfast was so good! Coffee hot. Prices very reasonable. A real gem. Server was friendly and checked on us ! Thank you Yelp for the heads up!

The Satellite has been an OC tradition for my family since I was kid and it remains today. The food is consistently good, reasonable, and the staff is really sweet. It is a cash only establishment so plan accordingly. The front of the restaurant is really cute with a beach feel but the back is not pleasant but sometimes it gets pretty busy so if you must sit in the back it's not awful just not nice either. I've had a lot on the menu but my favorites are the Boogie Board, the Mess, and the Love Boat but honestly I haven't had anything I didn't enjoy. Great little family spot

5 stars for excellent service. They only except cash so be prepared. Lovely, charming little diner with very quick service. Coffee was good. Food very typical breakfast diner food but very fast to the table. Portions are nice.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. When my family and I first walked in the floor was disgusting and the staff just seemed very antisocial. Also, we were seated in the back area which was much cooler in temperature than the front area but the chairs looked like they haven't been cleaned since the 1980's. The food was terrible, a side of bacon that was $2.99 came with 3 microwaveable looking pieces of bacon. The corn beef hash was a sad frozen looking disk, I was honestly afraid to eat it. Our waitress seemed very disengaged and seemed as if she did not want to serve us. All in all a very bad place to eat and they have such a great location to get business, it was very disrespectful that they would serve that kind of food when people come from all over to visit ocean city Maryland.

Excellent breakfast. Had "the mess" and it was delicious. OJ was warm and they were out of Pepsi, but otherwise it was great. CASH ONLY.

I am slowly enjoying my second cup of coffee as I write this, and no one is trying to hurry me out the door. That alone is worth a star, or more, in a beach town. Even though this is a weekday, I don't think the waitress and cook would lose their Charleston-worthy Southern hospitality on a busy weekend. (two stars) The food itself earns the last two stars: perfectly cooked and arrived at our table in minutes. We tried a good cross-section of the menu with three adults and two children. All of the plates were cleaned with no complaints. Oh, and the OJ is fresh squeezed! For a beach town, this gets five stars. Even elsewhere I would give it four as a quaint city cubby.

Excellent service, delicious food and a quaint atmosphere at this just-off-the-boardwalk coffee shop. Golden brown pancakes had a touch of vanilla and were not huge. Belgian waffles had a rich texture and nice flavor. Bacon, eggs and even the wheat toast was delish -- and I doubt I will ever rave again about plain old wheat toast but this was, in fact, memorably good wheat toast! Go figure. Best sweet grits I've ever had, not being a fan of grits generally, so that is saying something. Cute little cafe is lessened by a practical, added-on and far less appealing backroom for overflow crowds. Bathroom (located outside) could use a facelift and cleanup, and busboys need to not reach across your face to silently clear some plates while people are still eating. But waitresses themselves were full of happy personality and hons to spare. Decent coffee, fast service and a hearty brekkie. A fine choice.

We eat here every single time we are in Ocean City (about 10 times a summer). They have the best breakfast in all of OC and I've tried a bunch. Excellent food, quick, easy, mostly friendly. There is one server that is really not personable and has worked there the last 3 years. We seem to always get him, but we always come back because everything else is fantastic. Dogs are allowed on the outside deck as long as it is open.

Really great service, food, and a laidback atmosphere! The lattes are made with high quality espresso, and the coffee is solid. I had one of the best omelettes ever- a very generous portion with ham, mushrooms, and, cheese. Pancakes were fluffy and not too sweet. We sat outside and the waitresses were super nice to our dog: they brought him water and bacon without us asking for anything from them! It's that kind of extra service that earns The 5th star. A definite must for an excellent breakfast in Ocean City.

I have been going to OC since my life began on this earth and just stumbled across this place. I wish I would have found it sooner. Great prices, food and service. I tried breakfast and lunch and wasn't even close to being disappointed. They would have gotten 5 stars if they took CC cards, but I can get by that. It will be a new morning bike ride breakfast spot for years to come.

This coffee shop was attached to our hotel, so we decided to eat here on our first morning. It was so great that we went back on the second morning as well. I'm very picky about my coffee and it's hard to find diners that have coffee that doesn't taste burnt. Satellite has phenomenal coffee, so that was a huge relief in itself. First day I had the Love Boat (poached eggs, bacon and cheddar sauce over hashbrowns). So delicious! My boyfriend got the stuffed french toast (stuffed with cream cheese and topped with strawberries). His was so good that I got it the next day and was not disappointed! On the second day he got a custom omelette made with bacon and feta cheese. The portions were huge! Pretty sure his omelette was made with four eggs. Service on both days was quick, and the staff are all very friendly. It's a little pricier than what I would typically pay for breakfast (almost $3 for a side of bacon!), but the food is delicious and worth it in the end.

Stayed at the adjoining hotel, hojo, and stopped in here to check it out, would have gotten another star if my wife would have liked her food, I got the eggs over hash-browns topped with cream chipped beef and old bay which was excellent and my wife had the sage sausage gravy which she didn't eat because it was overly salty! The services was friendly but slow as hell and the air wasn't working plus they still charged my wife's food so I can't say I would eat here again. Plus we found a gem of a breakfast place not to far away from this place.

Service and staff was not good we left after ordering coffee. A kitchen worker came out with his apron on and a plunger in his hand! Not a place I would recommend!

Lots of coffee choices and the coffee was ok. There are many muffin choices. They advertised a yogurt parfait with quinoa but it came with honey and fruit - no quinoa. When I inquired, the lady at the counter did not know what quinoa was. The yogurt was good, just not what I ordered

I had the spinach and feta omelette and my boyfriend had the Chesapeake Sarah meal and both were delicious! The coffee is also very good quality, and I highly recommend their lattes.

Satellite is an Ocean City anomaly. It's cozy and uncrowded with friendly service and generous portions. In other words, it doesn't belong in a town fueled by tourist traps that pride themselves on sloppy dishes and quick customer turnaround. Satellite is a gem. A few good things: - A nice break from the Coastal Highway breakfast scene - Small and quaint with outdoor seating - Chesapeake Sarah (cream chipped beef)! - Banana Split French Toast! - Delicious coffee and egg dishes A few bad things: - Limited hours and no cards accepted - Decor is blah - What's with the name?

On a recent stay in Ocean City at the Howard Johnson's Oceanfront @ 24th and the boards we spent 2 of our 3 mornings in this cute little cafe inside the hotel and enjoyed it both times. While nothing to really write home about the service and food were very good. I almost always have my eggs poached light and it's remarkable how many times places screw this up (over cooked most of the time is the problem) - both days mine were perfect. While they have the typical eggs + meat combinations they also have an unusual selection of named dishes such as the 'Love Boat' (2 eggs your style on a bed of crispy shoestring hash browns topped with melted cheddar cheese). I added a slab of scrapple to mine. Another is the 'Mess' (2 eggs your style on hash browns and then covered in sausage gravy). This is a beach side coffee shop so to me it can't ever get 5 stars however the food was good enough for us to go back a second day - service was very quick - maybe 5 minutes from order to food on your table. Knocks are they don't take plastic (a BIG knock for me anywhere - if you're running a business then take plastic - I HATE using cash for ANYTHING). They offer you an ATM in the hotel that boasts a hefty 2.75 charge to use - sounds like a scam between the cafe and the hotel if you ask me. The only other knock is the service in general - I don't know when it started happening but virtually every single occupation in Ocean City now is staffed by folks on temporary work VISAs from the former USSR. Don't get me wrong I'm not racist in any way but it makes Ocean City seem to be run by this eery armada of robots - these folks have NO personality whatsoever, can be hard to understand, and the biggest problem, they have a hard time understanding the CUSTOMER. We didn't get a chance to check this place out for lunch so hopefully another reviewer will - we were too full from breakfasts to consider lunch! ;)

Decided to stop by because of the great reviews and wasn't very impressed. We walked in at 11am the morning after Memorial Day and there was no one in the restaurant. Initially I thought it was closed but tried the door and was surprised to find it opened. A waitress quickly greeted and sat us. Service was great but I ordered biscuits and gravy and it was a lot of thick sauce that was barely warm. Hash browns were mushy, not crispy. My cousin enjoyed her pancake, scrambled eggs and bacon but that's pretty basic. Coffee was ok, but nothing to write home about. The decor is country and cute. Maybe I just went on an off day since everyone left the day before at the end of the holiday weekend. Probably won't be back.

Hidden gem. I just had to try this place out for breakfast today, as I was taking my mother on an early morning cruise on her motorized 3 wheel scooter on the northern side of the boardwalk in Ocean City. I have seen many reincarnations of this place since I first visited there on June 21st, 1968. That was my first wedding day and happened to be the longest day of the year - you know, most daylight, not what you may have been thinking. :-) We went from Bowie to Ocean city, just kids having kids and we stayed in the Satellite Hotel - nice, but inexpensive way back then. The is no more Satellite hotel, but a chain brand in it's place. The coffee shop was once just a counter, but now has a dining room. Through various owners and many years, the place still has an awesome breakfast. For those who know me, I am a scrapple snob and this place has it down to a science - nice and crispy on the outside and moist and tasty on the inside. I was hungry so I also had grits, poached eggs, perfectly runny as requested and 3 small fluffy pancakes. I ate the whole thing. They have a handicapped ramp in the back and the service was prompt, helpful, and kept out water glasses full. The only thing that was a pain was the cash only policy. It's nice to know that after 3 wives and 47 years some things are still as good as the "good old days"

Another frustrating disappointment in Ocean City. This restaurant may be a good place to have breakfast (although the faded decor looked more dingy than charming) but it is NOT a coffee shop. Coffee shops sell multiple varieties of coffee and baked goods, which you can enjoy at cafe-style seating. Satellite has diner-style booths and sells only plain drip coffee of mediocre quality. It was a sultry September Saturday when I visited, so I ordered iced coffee with cream and sugar. I got a paper cup of said drip coffee poured over ice. She set it on the service counter next to some packets of sugar and half-and-half, which I added myself -- resulting in gritty coffee of uneven sweetness. To add insult to injury, the lid didn't fit right and dripped all over me for the next few blocks, when I finally threw the whole thing away. The final straw: they're a cash only business. Ridiculously archaic and inconvenient. Two stars only because the server who helped me was quick, friendly and gave me a cup of water at no additional charge (I used it to wash the spilled coffee off of my hands.) It's not her fault they mislabeled the shop, but I won't be back regardless.

Not much to say here other than the hostess said that it would be a 15-20mins. for Brunch on Sunday and 30 mins later we asked how much longer, which she said that she forgot about us and didn't know how it happened. 10 minutes later she goes to seat us and I mentioned it was over 40 minutes. She said, "I don't care." Just 2 minutes before she was telling another patron, who had also been waiting that her English was not so good. Interestingly, her English was just fine when she told me she didn't care that we were waiting. Let me land the plane here, I asked for the Manager so I WOULD NOT need to post on YELP. She actually went to get the Manager before I asked, most likely so she could plead her case before he got to me. Although he apologized to me, he made NO accommodations. Oh well. I rather have eaten a dead bird than be treated with such a lack of respect.

Whoever advertised this as a "coffee shop" did them a disservice. It's a fairly cute diner or "breakfast nook" but they don't really do to-go and they don't have any muffins, baked goods, etc. that I would look for to go with my cup of coffee. Also, their coffee is not good.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Waited 30 minutes to order on a WEDNESDAY, took forever just to get our coffee refilled then they brought out 2 meals and said mine was "on it's way". Two other tables received their meals before me. Once I finally got my French toast and eggs, the eggs weren't cooked and neither was the French toast. I sent it all back. I would never come here ever again.

This place makes pancakes exactly the way I like them. Thin, slightly fluffy but with an eggy quality. None of that super fluffy IHOP crap. The creamed chipped beef is on point. Had regular coffee, but am planning to go back and try a specialty coffee drink. A little divey, but great food and good service. A must try for breakfast if staying in the area.

Food was great! Cute little place but not at all what I was expecting. Definitely NOT a coffee shop but more like a diner. Still worth the trip because the food was delicious. We'll be back for sure.

We in for breakfast and no one even sat us. Needless to say I was very grumpy when I didn't have my breakfast this morning! You guys need to take care of all your customers & hire some more staff please!
